I'm ga-ga for Lady Gaga! (PLAYLIST)
I hope you are having a great start to your week! I'm starting my week with a little adventure - I'm headed to NYC for less than 24 hours for an event for an internship I've been doing for a little while. Because today is a traveling day for me, I wasn't able to write the typical long form blog post. However, I have something fun for you that might make you dance a little bit instead!
On Sunday, America watched the one and only Lady Gaga perform a 13 minute medley of her top hits through the years during the Super Bowl 51 Halftime Show. Her choreography was nostalgic, her vocals were stellar, and she even flew around a little bit. If you haven't seen the show, check it out here:
Incredible, right? She's certainly still killing it. PLUS, in the same night, she announced her Joanne World Tour! EEP! Closeted middle school Fletcher would be screaming! I'm really hoping to see her in NYC while I'm studying there in the fall.
Because of all this, Gaga has been on my mind (and in my headphones) for the last 48 hours. This performance and announcement reminded me how much she meant to me growing up. I wrote a little bit about it on my instagram Sunday night:
"That performance was fun, inspiring, and nostalgic, which is just what we needed right now. Classic Gaga doing what she does best - giving a five star performance with all her heart. She's always be an inspiration of mine, ever since I was a young closeted middle schooler who had no idea who he was. Her music, creativity, and bravery inspired me to discover who I am. Proud to be a little monster since the beginning. Gaga, thanks for inspiring to be myself + let my creative freak fly." - @feistyfletch
Now, for the fun part:
I know not everyone grew up loving Lady Gaga's music or has listened to all of her many albums. So, I've put together my top 20 favorite songs from Gaga herself in a Spotify playlist (getting it down to that few was tough).
I made sure that the playlist includes a mix from each album that she's done (including her jazz album with Tony Bennett). Hopefully this will help show exactly why I love this woman so much. Here ya go:
Hope you enjoy Mother Monster herself! I'll see you back here Thursday with a more chatty post!
Talk to you soon,
