A Feisty Anniversary // 1 Year of feistyfletch.com

Dear feistyfletch.com readers,

Today, I am writing a letter rather than a blog post.

More particularly, I am writing a THANK YOU letter.

Now who am I writing it to? Well, YOU.

-- Happy Anniversary! --

Today marks the one year anniversary of feistyfletch.com.

A year ago today, I posted on all my social media that I had bought the domain feistyfletch.com and I was going to do something with it. I didn't exactly know what that was at the time. Needless to say, I had no idea what was in store for me.

After that day, I started making all kinds content.  I wrote advice posts, personal posts, travel journals, made videos, did Q+As, and more. I'm still in shock that I've been able to explore so many different types of content.

The best part? You've been reading and responding to it! I ask myself daily how I got so lucky that people would take time out of their busy schedules to stop and read something from silly ol' me.

-- "Why the name feistyfletch?" --

While celebrating this exciting day, I wanted to quickly explain my name. The name and blog title "feistyfletch" might seem silly, but it's actually got a lot of significance to my life.

Why am I "feistyfletch"?  Why not "flusteredfletch"? Because that would totally work for me as well.

Now, the word feisty has two definitions when you google it. They are the following:

The "touchy and aggressive" definitions is hopefully not some that you identify with me. If it is, PLEASE LET ME KNOW and I'll fix that right away.

I really really like the first definition though - "lively, determined, and courageous."

Those are words that I would say that I strive to identify with:

  •  I'm lively - I have WAY too much energy.
  • I'm determined - I'm going to work towards my goals no matter what. I understand that I'm a little weird compared to other guys my age, but laughter and judgement isn't going to stop me.
  • I'm courageous - I'm a 19 year old guy who was born and adopted from a different country and identifies within the LGBTQIA+ community. There are dangers that come with that. With that in mind, I work every day to defeat stereotypes towards gay people and show that being different from those around you doesn't mean you aren't capable of greatness.

I've fallen in love with the nickname. I love when people say "Hey, feisty!" and "Hey, FeistyFletch!" It makes my day every day. The name "Fletcher" now just sounds too formal.

-- The Feisty Family --

feistyfletch.com didn't come to be by myself. I've had some help from some amazing people along the way. If you've helped me with design, videos, sent in questions, read a post, commented on a post, shared a post, or done ANYTHING with the blog, you are a part of the feistyfletch family.

You are just as feisty (if not more feisty) than me.

I thank you from the bottom of my feisty heart.

-- Feisty Life Updates --

I've been getting back into the swing of things at school! I'm so excited to be back at Elon University, and I will be posting blog posts and social media posts all about the new things I am involved in and what I am up to! Stay tuned for that!

ALSO, I do have a dorm room tour coming your way within the next two weeks.

Furthermore, I'm in the planning process to do another GIVEAWAY! I did a Spotify membership giveaway last year and it was a lot of fun, so I will be doing something bigger and better to celebrate the anniversary! So, stay tuned if you want to win some $$$.

-- "Get to the point, Fletch..." --

In a nutshell: None of this would have been possible without you. You are the reason I do this everyday. My day is ALWAYS made when someone says "I read your blog post" or "I've been keeping up with your site." It means so much to me.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE tell me if there is anything in particular you would like to read or see. I'm always open to new suggestions and ideas. I want this blog to involve as many of you lovely people as possible.
