7 Things That #ImThankfulFor (Thanksgiving 2015)

I hope everyone is having a wonderful day full of yummy food & engaging conversations with friends and family.

Today, I wanted to write about some of the things that I am personally thankful for. Now, I know that there are many lists and things like this that have become cliche. My goal is to make this different. I tried to include some unique things that I am thankful for!

1. Good music

Spotify is the best investment I've made in a while. Seriously - you will NOT regret it.

Music is an extremely important part of my life. I honestly don’t think I’ve ever gone a day in my life in the last 6 years where I haven’t listened to music. Whether happy or sad, music is powerful and I really think can change lives. I love how people can help people express themselves and discover more about themselves. I could go on forever about this.

2. Good friends

I’ve met some pretty amazing people in the last few years. Whether from high school, my first semester of college, or other endeavors, I am very thankful for these people. I don’t want to single anyone out, but I’m sure you know who you are. Thank you for supporting me through my shenanigans, laughing at my horrible jokes, and forgiving me for my annoying feisty-ness.

3. My education

Just me and bae (Elon University)

This is probably my favorite on the list. I am so so so thankful for the education that I’ve been able to receive. I am trying my best to not take it for granted. My time through the IB program at Trinity Episcopal School was certainly challenging, but I learned so much about different topics and myself. I am truly grateful for the teachers and mentors that helped me through that. Also, even after just one semester at Elon University, I know that this is where I need to be. The teachers, the programs, and the other students have been so inspiring to me as I am pursuing my strategic communications major. I've been able to do things I never thought I would. I know there are so many people that haven’t had these opportunities, and I am hoping to use what I learn and do to help more people in this world get these amazing opportunities.

4. The ability to change

This is definitely something a little unique to myself. I’m extremely thankful that I have been able to change through the years. I’ll admit for a portion of my life I was extremely close-minded and judgmental, and I can proudly say that I think I’ve become more open-minded and less judgmental through the years. This ability to change who I am for the better is something I am grateful for. I’m regretful and ashamed of many of the ways that I’ve acted through the years. I’m excited that each day I’m able to pursue new challenges and change for the better.

5. Perk! Bon Air

You may be sick of me posting about it, but I am so so so so thankful for the opportunities that I have had working at Perk! Bon Air. When I saw that Perk! was opening down the road from where I live, I really wanted to work there. Honestly, I never thought I’d end up actually getting to, but it was always a dream of mine to work in a cute coffee shop. However, the amazing people there allowed me to start cleaning dishes for them February of this year. After that, I worked every weekend until I started working almost every day of the summer as a cashier/dishwasher/etc.! It was a dream come true. I learned so much about how coffee is the coolest thing ever and how small businesses are awesome. I’ve loved every moment that I’ve worked there, and I’m still in shock that Chris and the gang put up with my wackiness.

6. Social Media

I am so so so thankful for social media. This amazing part of our society that many people don’t like is one of the things that makes me happy every day. The ability to go online and get inspired by so many awesome people is what keeps me going. Being able to reach out to people near and far and create relationships has been a dream come true. If you follow me on any of my social media accounts, THANK YOU. I appreciate you more than you’d ever imagine. I love making online content, and it’s so freaking awesome that people actually keep up with me. I LOVE IT and I LOVE YOU. I’m so excited to pursue a career in strategic communications, and more specifically, something involving social media :)

7. YOU

If you are reading this, THANK YOU. I appreciate all of the love and support that I have received with feistyfletch.com! A blog/website was definitely something I’ve always wanted to start, and I am so glad that I did. I still can’t believe the amount of people that read my blog. It’s a DREAM COME TRUE. Please please please tell me what you want to see. I want to make feistyfletch.com a place with content that you want to see!

This certainly isn’t everything that I am thankful for, but these are some of the things that I’ve recently been extremely thankful for. What are you thankful for? Tell me in the comments & on social media!

Alrighty, I’m off to drown in mashed potatoes, pumpkin pie, and awkward family conversations!

Hope you had a SAFE & wonderful Thanksgiving and will be careful on Black Friday! (it can get dangerous getting those sales)
